The scene opens with Johnson and Gabriel going inside a prison. Johnson starts emptying out her bag and realizes that she has too much and just gives her entire purse to the guard. They go inside the hall and every prisoner is making cat calls to Johnson. They get into a room where Inmate Ray Diamond is there and asks where his lawyer is. He tells that he is representing himself and that he has information about a murder. However, the District Attorney has to drop his third strike against him. Johnson tells that she doesn’t know if that is going to happen and he tries to tell them to make it happen. He says that he overheard High Power members talking about a hit that is supposed to go down tomorrow because he over read it. However, Johnson points out that Diamond has lied to police before about a murder that wasn’t true. He tells that gives them a hint as to who the target is to show that he is telling the truth. He says that it has something to do with Case # BA120368

They get back to the station and tell Chief Pope that the case that Diamond told was a case between the State vs. Robert Curtis, a banker to the Cartel. Pope brings up Diamond being a liar and Johnson says that the fact that Diamond quoted the case number by memory is proof enough. However, Pope tells Johnson to turn over the case to DDA Hobbs because the County Jail is someone’s problem. Pope tells that the city is broke and that Diamond is not their concern. Johnson tells the other co-workers and Captain Raydor comes in. Sanchez tells that the Cartel have Curtis doing the banking. Fritz comes in and tells that Curtis has been funneling in money for the Cartel and it is clear that he has been given up when he tried to cut a deal. Gabriel tells that the case is not their case though and Johnson says that she is filing a complaint because Diamond told her that the bruises that Diamond got came from County. Raydor plays ball and gets Johnson to keep the case because she is launching an investigation to make sure that Diamond wasn’t beaten on his way to lock-up. Johnson tells Raydor to go to the prison and talk to Diamond, but when she gets there, Diamond is dead.
At the prison, Raydor talks to Sgt. Statton and asks how Diamond told him that the police were not the ones that beat him up. Raydor asks if Diamond had any visitors. They watch the tape of visitations and see that a woman visited Diamond before Johnson. At the station, Raydor tells Buzz to enlarge the video. They see that Diamond was passing on the letter that the other inmate wrote to put out the hit. Raydor tells that the woman is named Maria Flores and she is listed as Diamond’s girlfriend. However, Maria is not just with Diamond. She is with several men taht think that she is a girlfriend. Later, Gavin Baker comes in and tells that he will bill her if she tries to leave. Raydor tells that Baker has to interview all in there to try to bring out the leak that is in the division. She informs everyone of the questioning and Baker reassures them that it is only 5 questions. Flynn tells that Baker is harmless and starts to tell a story, buy Provenza comes in and takes the glory. Baker reassures everyone and Commander Taylor tells that he will go first. Later, DDA Hobbs, Pope, Johnson and Fritz meet and Hobbs tells that she needs to get the case heard. Pope asks where they are keeping Curtis and she tells that it is off Ovara Street at a police sub-station. Johnson volunteers to protect Curtis and Fritz volunteers too. Hobbs reluctantly agrees with the pretexts that Johnson is not allowed to mention a threat that is against him.
Meanwhile, the questions begin and Commander Taylor tells that nothing was said except for Gabriel saying that it was a lousy day. Gabriel meets with Baker and tells that it was a lousy day because it started off bad and ended bad too. Johnson and Fritz introduce themselves to Curtis as his new security detail. Curtis takes a liking to Johnson and tells her that he likes her. Fritz walks out to check the exterior and Curtis says that he doesn’t like Fritz and DDA Hobbs tells that she will keep him far away. Johnson takes this as her opportunity to talk to Curtis and she asks him about Maria. She tells that she is the kiss of death because every time she comes around, someone dies. Curtis’ lawyer, Nick, comes up and asks what he is doing talking to Johnson. He tells that Curtis shouldn’t be talking to anyone. Johnson walks away and sees Curtis grabbing Nick and telling him to shut-up. Raydor calls and tells that she is following Maria and says that she keeps circling the same location as the police station where they are at. Johnson tells Hobbs that the location has been compromised and can’t go anywhere. Nick tells that is not fair to his client.

Back at the station, Lt. Taou talks to Baker and tells that he has not done anything that is contrary to what is was questioned. Flynn talks to Baker and says that it is like a bad of cash. Do you take it? Baker is relieved when Flynn is called out to take to the case with Johnson. Meanwhile, Fritz and Hobbs are having coffee and Hobbs tells that they are close on this. Johnson is still talking to Raydor and sees that Maria picked up a Latina male. She watches as the man opens fire in the same cafe that Fritz and Hobbs are at. Everyone is alright, except the Hobbs was shot in the shoulder. Raydor and the rest of the team catch Maria and the Latino male. The man gets out of the car and walks away. Captain Raydor grabs the bean bag shotgun and shoots it at his head. She blames it on the kickback. Back at the station, Johnson hugs Fritz and he says that he is fine. Hobbs tells that it is just a scratch. Lt. Taou says that they found everything was in Maria’s car. Sanchez says that the shooter was a Mexican National.
Hobbs asks why the Cartel would want her dead and Johnson realizes something she hadn’t before. She gets into an interview room and talks to Curtis and Nick. Curtis starts talking and Nick tells him to be quiet about everything. However, when Curtis finds out that the $15,000 that was paid to kill Hobbs came from his own doing by Nick’s advice, he tells that Nick is trying to get him to go to jail while playing both sides of it all. Baker walks in to watch the interview and Johnson hints that someone told Curtis about the location and that is how they knew about it. Nick tries to tell that Johnson is trying to get him to talk. Curtis tells him to shut-up and says that he paid the money and Fritz walks in and says that Curtis is under Federal arrest now for being part of an illegal enterprise. He tries to look at Nick and Nick tells him that he told him to be quiet. Johnson tells Nick after Curtis leaves that he is going to write down the money that the Cartel paid him and his involvement of this. Nick tells that he knows about her and Terrell Baylor’s family’s case and says that she better watch out. Johnson tells that she doesn’t care and will throw Nick in with the other Cartels. He panics and grabs the paper.

Afterward, Baker continues with the interviews and talks to Provenza. He tells Baker that he doesn’t know anything takes the paper out and reveals that there is a leak that is giving Goldman, the Baylor’s lawyer, information that they don’t or can’t have. He tells everyone that if they are the leak, that they need to tell him that he is going to win no matter what because he always wins. He walks out and the episode ends.
