The titles fade as we witness a couple making out in the front of a high-end car. Upon closer inspection, the couple looks strangely familiar...

...it's Brenda and Fritz!

The two are in the throes of passion when they hear a strange sound; it's Brenda's cell phone, ringing on vibrate. As much as they want to ignore it (and Fritz especially wants to), Brenda finally has to give in and pick it up. It's Sgt. Gabriel, and there's another case to solve. Sheepishly, Brenda tries to compose herself and asks Fritz to take her to Griffith Park.

Fritz obliges her, and even offers to drive her to the yellow tape, but Brenda jumps out a few hundred yards awayand thanks him profusely for his help.

At the scene, Brenda is introduced to the late Judge Michael Thompson, then is told by her team that he's been dead for about two hours. The Judge had a weekly poker game at a lawyer's house, and from all appearances it looks like he was the victim of a carjacking gone wrong.

That is, until they hear a phone ringing.

After checking everyone's cell phones, Lt. Flynn finally figures out that the phone ringing belongs to the Judge. Brenda answers it, trying to get the caller to identify themselves. After a few minutes, Brenda hangs up and quickly issues directives---it seems they may have either another victim or a lead on their killer.

The team searches the Judge's house, the house where the poker game was, and the park, but to no avail. Back at the Parker Center, Brenda is trying to get a read on the situation when a woman comes in looking for her son. Brenda recognizes her---it's the same woman she spoke to on the phone last night.

The woman is Jillian Thompson, the Judge's ex, and she's worried---her son, Keith, is not only missing, he's autistic. Brenda promises that she and her team are doing everything they can to find him...

...which leads to a sparring match between her and Capt. Taylor over a possible suspect: a man who was supposed to go in front to the Judge that day. Pope tells them that they will both interrogate him, and they do. The man tries to make a deal with Brenda, who's a lot more receptive to the idea than Capt. Taylor. That is, until a message comes in, and Brenda cuts the interview short.

It appears that there's been a car sitting in the airport parking lot for some time now, and the car is registered to the Judge. They open the trunk to find Keith, whos chanting a series of numbers and asking "Where am I?" over and over.

In the hospital, Brenda and Sgt. Gabriel try to talk to Keith, but they find that it's difficult at best. Jillian explains that Keith has peculiarities; one of which Brenda learns quickly---he hates being touched. She recieves a shiner because she made that mistake. She also learns he's very literal and he is obsessed with routine and geography.

Sgt. Gabriel is shaking his head. "Our witness lives in his own world," he complains.

"Well, pack your bags, Sgt. Gabriel, because we're going there for a visit," chirps Brenda.

In Brenda's office, Keith is looking through a photo book while Brenda attempts to question him. Fritz stops by to see his favorite girl and drop off her cell phone. Suddenly Keith begins to freak out; it's revealed that he's late for his piano lesson and the alteration in his routine is upsetting him.

As they drive Keith, both Brenda and Sgt. Gabriel learn the importance of geography to Keith; he continues to ask "where am I?" until they manage to turn on the GPS system in Brenda's car. Later, Brenda confers with Lt. Tao, who tells her that the system in the Judge's car is one that is top of hte line, and an after-market item in his make of car. It's very powerful....accurate to a thousandth of a degree longitude and latitude. They begin to run the numbers that Keith was chanting and realize that the Judge's killer made an unscheduled stop.

Sgt. Gabriel and Brenda stop at the intersection that Keith mentioned; they check tapes from survelliance and discover an enemy of the Judge made a phone call---and smoked three cigarettes waiting for something. They find the man and bring him in.

Pope is furious---Brenda's been avoiding him and Jillian all day, and the latter is extremely anxious about her son. Brenda tells Pope that she is just about to talk to their suspect when he tells her to go talk to Jillian first.

Which she does. Brenda sets up Jillian in an empty interrogation room (Fritz is waiting in her office), and she then goes to talk to her suspect. He isn't willing to talk, but Brenda doesn't want him to talk---just to listen. She tells him in detail how he took the job killing the Judge; after all, he was already pissed about him sending his brother up for life. She tells him about how he committed the crime, and that he was caught because the cigaretts butts he left have his DNA all over them. She also tells him that if he writes down the name of the person who hired him, she won't file any charges against him. He writes down the name, and Brenda has one more stop to make...

...across the hall, where Jillian is waiting. Brenda checks her information, asking her about her cell phone number (her information has her buying a prepaid phone in Tempe early last week) and her finances (she withdrew $75,000 from her accounts which was found inthe possession of hte man who killed the Judge). Jillian is confused, when suddenly Brenda tells her she has a choice to make: either Keith will be living in an overcrowded, potentially dangerous foster home or he can reside in a center specifically for people with disabilities like his. Jillian finally cracks, telling Brenda that her ex didn't care about Keith, or her for that matter---all he cared about was winning. She tells her that Keith was being forced to live as a normal person; something he couldn't do. She revels in the fact that she finally got the better of him, after all.

Across the hall, the killer's lawyer is chatistizing Brneda for being sent on a wild goose chase, but her tune changes when Brenda reveals that she's not pressing charges. However, he's not exactly free to go...since carjacking has become a Federal offense, carrying the death penalty in the case of a death in the process of he carjacking, she introduces them to Fritz, whom she's dating. Pope, who's watching all this with interest, slackens a little when Brenda announces this piece of news.

After everyone's taken away, Brenda goes to her office to see Keith in a quandary---he's frantically asking "Where am I?" while trying to be escorted to the residential facility he'll be living in. Brenda feels badly for Keith, who has no idea what' is going on around him. Feeling guilty, she indulges in her snack drawer.
