It's always disappointing when I'm a couple steps ahead of the characters in a crime-solving show, and that's what happened in this episode. I knew the old guy was falsely confessing to attract attention to the cases, and I knew as soon as Daniels mentioned bonuses for occupancy rates that that was the motive. In fact, for the latter, I'm not sure why Brenda would have a delayed reaction to that information other than that the episode would be over halfway through.
It was funny (and a little sad) when the nurse assumed Provenza was there for a tour.
It was good to see Gabriel back and to have Brenda ask him into the final interrogation of the suspect. |

Good episode, but pretty predictable, as you mentioned. It kinda sucks the enjoyment out of anything when you've figured out the entire case within minutes.
The scenes with Gabriel and Brenda were very good, though. Tense and sort of uncomfortable up until the end where they worked together flawlessly.
Kathryn Joosten fit her guest star role perfectly, but I couldn't get it out of my head that she's Mrs. McCluskey. |
