The Colbert Report: Steve Kroft

Stephen talks about the World Baseball Classic, where Japan defeated Cuba and then uses Colbert logic to explain how that makes U.S.A. the winner. Tonight's The Word is "Eat It", which discusses Mad Cow disease and the U.S.D.A.'s lower standards in testing cattle for the disease. Stephen gives live employee reviews of Bobby the stage manager, Jim Hoskinson the Director, and Killer the Cable Jockey. Stephen interviews Steve Kroft, correspondent for 60 minutes, they discuss his history with 60 Minutes and a recent story he did on war profiteering in Iraq. Cultural References
Stephen's opening quote, he says, "In vino veritas". This is a Latin phrase translating to "In wine, there is truth". This comes from how consumption of alcohol can make you less inhibited to say what you really think.

Stephen's reference to suduko in his opening bit is to a Japanese logic puzzle using a 9x9 grid of numbers.
