• Colbert executive producer exits show |
Allison Silverman is stepping down as exec producer of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."
No specific reason was given for Silverman's departure.
She has been at "The Colbert Report" since its launch in October 2005 and, along with Colbert, was most responsible for the day-to-day operations of the show that has seen its popularity rise with Colbert's faux right-wing pundit garnering headlines and a recent stint as guest editor of Newsweek.
There was no word on whether Silverman's replacement would come inhouse -- Meredith Bennett, Richard Dahm and Tom Purcell are co-exec producers -- or if the show would hire from outside the net.
