Lisa Bonet returns part-time in her role as Denise Huxtable. In the story, Denise drops out of college and decides to move back in with the Huxtables. Denise would be in the background very much this season, due to Bonet's real-life pregnancy.
 
This season has the most unique opening sequence of all the series, with the cast featured dancing together in Hawaiian-like attire to jazzy Hawaiian-like music.
