After Theo brags to Cliff, Elvin, and Martin about the romantic evening he is planning with Justine, they all place a bet to see who can be the most romantic without exceeding a $25 limit on a present. Theo insists that being married immediately sucks all of the romance out of a relationship, but Cliff, Elvin, and Martin disagree. The women end up finding out about the men's plan when Olivia accidentally tells them, and they vow to react angrily to whatever they get. But, as soon as each of them opens their gifts, none of them can go along with the plan.
