Recap

The scene opens with Pete going to meet with Dennis and Cody. Cody is facing twelve to sixty years for carrying illegal firearms with altered serial numbers. Cody was transporting the guns for his grandfather Dennis, when he was pulled over for speeding. He said he was only going five miles per hour over the speed limit and made him sit in the back of the car while they searched the vehicle. Cody says they didn’t even ask him to search the vehicle. It turns out that Dennis has a huge gun operation that sells guns to militia. Now Pete is in court. He is greeted by an old friend in the business and wonders why there are so many people from the district watching the case. He asks his friend and all he tells Pete is good luck. Pete begins court looking at Dennis, he loses when he asks for the case to be dismissed on the grounds that it was an illegal search. As he is leaving the court he is approached by Amber Mack from the Gun coalition. She tells him that he did well and they will have more opportunity to win in the future. She says she will be co-council for free and will pay Pete’s wages for the case. Pete says he will talk to his partner and get back to her. ..
