Harry Dresden, played by Paul Blackthorne

As a child Harry Dresden could see things and do things that defied rational explanation. Born to a powerful soreress and a mortal magician, his mother died while he was very young. He was raised by his father Colm Dresden, who knew his son was special and tried to protect him as best as he could.

After his father's death, Harry went to live with his uncle Justin Morningway who was the first to introduce him to Bob. While living with his uncle, Bob taught Harry about magic and the world of wizards, and the two formed a close-knit friendship as Harry grew.

After Harry 'Self-defensed' his conniving uncle to death, he went out on his own, meeting the vampiress Bianca and then eventually becoming a private investigator. The series takes place 5 years after his uncle's death. Harry is the only person listed in the Chicago Yellow pages as both a P.I. and a wizard.

Because of his expertise in the weird he is often called by Lt. Murphy of the Chicago Police Department to help on her stranger cases; the work, as well as the paycheck, are always welcome.

Harry is perpetually broke and dresses just a few shades above 'bum'. He drives an old jeep and uses a hockey stick as a wizard's staff and his wand is a drum stick.
