So what do you think of the show so far? I realize only one episode has aired but this thread is for people to discuss the current episode of the series, what they liked and what they didn't like.

I was happy with what Sci-Fi was able to do with the material. I'm one of the baised fans of the books, so there series will always have things that are "off" in my eyes, but I feel that they did a nice enough job translating it to tv. Hope they keep up the good work, and can't wait to see the other major characters begin to make the entrance.

I really like the way they introduced the series. I liked the fact they used the boy's story to give a glimpse of Dresden background, they didn't drown you in back story. They managed to throw you right into the story, without loosing the people who are new to the concept. I for one haven't read the books (though I may very well now) so for me this was a great introduction.

Ok... Let's discuss The Boone Identity.

This show is starting to remind me of the first seasons of the X-files. I really like the show.

I never watched the X-files, and so can't comment on the show's likeness, but I am enjoying the feel of it thus far. I'm kind of worried that thus far, across two episodes, we haven't seen Harry do any outright magic. I don't know if it's a matter of budgeting effects and stuff, or just not the direction that the show wants to take right now. Everything seems to be gearing more towards drama than action.

There was more action this episode then last, but I think it's only a matter of time. Besides if he's too powerful it makes the challenges too easy.

I think that when (eventually) the council finds him, that's when the bigs guns will come out.

Also remember, he's in hiding right now. Which is part of the reason why Bob was so adamant that he not use Voodoo.

Of course that's my take and I haven't read the books. Yet.

But the first season of the X-files was very much like this. Disbelieving woman agent/cop, half the episode to find the cause of the strange event, the other half to find a way to stop it. A mystery series with a sci-fi bent.

i like the show as a whole, but the actress playing murphy is really stiff. there is no chemistry between her and dresden. they come off as though the actors don't like each other in real life and are just going thru the motions. also, she's easy on the eyes, but not very convincing as a police lieutenant.

i like everything about it except her.

Yeah... I kinda agree. She's no Gillian Anderson that's for sure. Maybe she'll work it out. I almost believed it at the very end of this last episode.

I love Bob though. He's got some of the best lines.

Again a new episode. Interesting though almost unbelievable.

Hair of the Dog

Talk about chemistry... How about a hot Werewolf?

i totally dug this episode. it was exciting and very interesting. i don't know, something about it hooked me good.

i liked the cheesy werewolf special effects. it was a good idea to keep them very dark to hide the low budget. in that, they did a pretty good job. it was pulled off well.

the red head playing the new lycant (not sure if i spelled that right, probably not) was hot. love them red heads. i liked how they had her playing off her raw emotions. the interactions between her and dresden after she was bit were pretty intense. i like bob trying to tell dresden to stake her. hi-larious.

again i'm going to have to say the the actress playing murphy was the one thing that i can complain about. she was even worse this episode. i know i said she was stiff before, but this time is was like watching a pine bored on tv. the scene where she asked dresden out for a beer at the end was so forced. she needs to die and get someone else in there.

I enjoyed the episode; I've finally gotten to the point where I take them as their own little individual entities, and not as re-creations of the books

The word you were looking for is "Lycanthropes."

And as much as I don't like the way Murphy's being portayed, she is, sadly, the most accurately done character. In the books, Murphy's, at the beginning, kind of stiff towards Harry, keeping everything professional. And she has a lot of trouble trusting him completely, despite his always coming through for her.

Yes, as a woman, the werewolf chick was hot. Did I ever mention I'm loving the character of Dresden and the actor that plays him, Paul Blackthorne? He is so very sexy. And likable too.

And how about the gratuitous sniffing and the hot kiss? Yeah... If this series makes it past the first season they are definitely bringing her back.

But I do kinda agree with him about Murphy. She was a little wooden.

i'm not talking about murphy and dresden's relationship. i'm talking about the actress playing murphy. she's just not that good of an actress, in my opinion. maybe it's the material, maybe it's her, maybe she'll ease into the role and turn it around. i don't know. but right now, it's being done poorly.

I noticed it said Nicholas Cage was an executive producer at the beginning of the second episode. The Nicholas Cage?
