fA fire is blazing in Central City at a waterfront property and Murphy and Bellows are among the police officers keeping the crowds back. Murphy wants to start a pool on Flash sightings even though he doesn't believe the vigilante exists. Fosnight and a friend, Sadie Grosso, are in the crowd and Sadie says that it's the third major fire in three weeks. Episode Notes
According to Tina's computer screen, most of the scientists at Star Labs are named after production crew members. The one other name on the list, "C. Chance," stands for Christopher Chance, the comic book character known as the Human Target. Most of the crew members listed worked on the 1992 TV series bringing that character to life.

Episode Quotes
Julio: Okay, Sabrina's got this girlfriend. She's young, she's hip, she's single, she's perfect for you.
Barry: Yeah, like the last perfect one, the one with the phobias.
Julio: So she was afraid of spiders, big deal.
Barry: Yeah, along with hats, fish, suitcases, and anything with fur.

Barry: Judith, huh? What did you tell her about me?
Julio: That you're 4'8" with a mug like a scouring pad. What do you think, man? Just trust me. I'm a living proof of what love can do.
Barry: Yeah, but inhaling lab fumes does the same thing.

Barry: I wear a mask to protect the people I know and love who might get hurt for what I do.
Megan Lockhart: You're a cop. You know wearing masks are illegal.
Barry: Oh, right. But what would do? Run through the street stark naked at 350 miles an hour with bells on your toes?

Cultural References
Barry: Or Flipper.

Flipper is the dolphin star of his own series where he basically plays the role of Lassie.

Barry: TV Magic Cards when I was a kid. 1969s, Marshal Brodien.

TV Magic Cards were sold on TV in the 60s and 70s, and were a renamed Svengali deck.
