Kimble meets up with a former lawyer, currently a law professor at a small college in Pennsylvania, who claims he could reverse the decision that Richard had received. He agrees to let the professor hold a mock trial with his students which would air on TV, but soon realizes that he is using parts of his own case of how he was disbarred for a drunk driving incident.

No good deed goes unpunished when Kimble helps out a stranded motorist who's car has broken down. Lucey Russell, the motorist, gives Richard a place to stay for the evening. But the next morning finds that Lucey's lover has been found dead where her car had broken down. Kimble can prove her innocence but will also cost him his freedom.
