The scene opens with an alert on the computer screen and Chief Nick Manahan gets a call and there is a burglary in progress. Teresa is with Marcus and she gets a call from her roommate saying that she is kicked out of her apartment. Teresa doesn’t know where she is going to go and Marcus offers to give her a place to stay with him. Nick and Marcus arrive at the Macalister’s and Marcus tells that they are not allowed to enter into residents homes without permission. But there is a shattering of a window. They enter in the house with guns drawn. They enter in the hallway and Nick sees the burglar, it is Mr. Macalister. He tells that they got home an hour ago and that everything is fine. They leave and there is a woman on the other side of the counter with blood coming from her mouth

Claire is making cupcakes with red frosting and Dylan tells that General Kraus and his wife are coming for the weekend and Claire offers to cook for them. Dylan is not sure if she could do it. But Claire tells that it would be good for her to learn to blend in more. He agrees. At school, Brett meets Andie in the hallway and tells her that with him telling her he loved her, it has drawn them apart. He tells her to forget that he said it. Charlie sees Andie in the hallway and she runs off. She runs into the girl’s bathroom and her friend wants to know who she is running from. She tells that she needs to make a choice and the real person she needs to be with will show itself. It is Bake Sale time and Sarah Monahan meets Karen Creski and Karen tells that there are some rules of the bake sale and tells that she is in charge.
Claire is at the grocery story parking lot and a lady next to her cuts her hand and Claire fights back temptation. Christian, a person from her past, is there and wants to know how life in “The Gates” is and tells that people can change but “they” don’t. He gives her his business card and tells her that when she is ready, to give him a call. Back at the station, Lee tells Nick that the alarm was triggered outside of “The Gates”. However, she feels that it had to be done within “The Gates” because of their upgraded software and that it is impossible. Claire is attempting to make food for the Kraus’s and it is not turning out too good. She gets a craving for blood and goes to the freezer. She opens it, looks at the blood and then looks at Christian’s business card.
Lucas meets Brett in the boy’s bathroom and tells that Andie kissed Charlie. Brett gets angry and smashes a bathroom stall door. He wants to go see Andie but Lucas tells that he needs to go “running” with them to blow off the rage. In class, Mr. Abernathy talks about how King Henry and Anne Boleyn were together and were in love. Andie tells that Henry beheaded Anne Boleyn and he tells that it was true love and a woman walks in and he tells the class that he has a lunch date. Brett and Lucas and the others are getting ready to “run”. They go through the gate to the woods. At the station, Sara talks about the bake sale and how Mrs. Creski was Martha Stewart and tells that Karen looked like she just got back from the day spa and that it was only the morning. The alarms go off at several houses and the team goes to investigate. Nothing is stolen and Lee suggests there is a glitch in the matrix of the system. Meanwhile, Claire is meets with Christian again and they talk about the cravings and old times. She tells that Dylan and her have resulted to not killing anymore and that she is happy with her life, but it seems that she is not really.
Back at the station and Nick tells that there have been calls of break-ins. He orders a lockdown of “The Gates”. In the forest Lucas, Brett and the rest run around and Brett says that it fun and cleared his head right out. He checks the calls on his phone and texts Andie to meet at the yogurt shop tomorrow. Meanwhile, at the bar, Claire sees Christian leaving with a girl and walks out and sees her feeding on her. Christian invites her and she goes along with it. Back in “The Gates” residents are trying to get back in and there have been 23 houses have houses broken in and Buckley is calling. Marcus tells that Lee’s guest house got hit too. Lucas and the rest go to the gate and Lucus’s card is not working. Brett jumps over the fence and tells that the cameras don’t see him at all. The others are impressed with Brett when he does it. Lee arrives at her guest house and an important piece from a cabinet is missing. Dylan talks to Claire and wonders when she got in last night. She tells that it took forever to get through the main gate. He tells that he tried to call her and she tells that her phone was dead. He doesn’t believe her but she shows that her phone went dead. She pulls out her meal for the General and his wife and it is perfect. Dylan tells that he will put the charger back in her car.

At the station, the Marcus and Nick are questioning the non-residents to their meaning of their stay. Nick interviews Mr. Abernathy and he tells that his first major was not History and tells that he was at the school late grading papers. Marcus interviews a handyman installing and entertainment unit inside a bathroom and an escort who he writes as a physical therapist. Lee talks to Teresa and wonders why her car was filled with things going out of “The Gates”. Marcus tells that she was moving her stuff into his place and that he told her to get rid of things for him. Lee doesn’t believe her. Marcus tells Lee to back off from his girlfriend. Peg arrives at the station and gives her medicine to help with the pain and tells that if she is separated from “it” too long, but she is interrupted when Lee’s nose starts bleeding.
Marcus is looking at the security alarms and tells that he can see a letterman jacket and Nick tells that he needs to know which player was not at the game last night. At the yogurt shop, Andie is waiting for Brett but he is not showing up. Charlie arrives and offers to keep her company until Brett arrives. Meanwhile at the police station, Brett is being questioned to where he was last night and Karen sticks up for him and tells that he was at the game, but Brett confesses and says that he was riding bikes with Lucas and some other kids. He tells that Mr. Abernathy saw them riding bikes. Andie and Charlie are still at the yogurt shop and Andie apologizes for kissing him. Charlie tells that she needs to tell him if she is going to stay with Brett. Outside the station, Sara sees Karen looking really upset. Inside the car, Karen tells that Brett is grounded. She finds out that he was running. He claims that there were no hunters and she tells that she won’t let what happened to his father and Jeremy happen to him.
Claire cooks for the Kraus’s and shows that she could cook a lovely dinner. Everyone is impressed and Mrs. Kraus tells that Claire did an amazing job. Claire gets a craving again and plays it off for a craving for wine. Dylan tells that she pulled off the homemaking thing brilliantly. He apologizes that he snapped at her and whatever she is doing is working and it feels like he has the “Old Claire” back. Back at the station Lee is still fighting off the effects from being away from her object and Marcus tells that she needs to back off from his girlfriend and tells her that she is jealous. She tells that he is wrong and Nick walks in and tells that Brett is cleared. Lee tells that the kids ride their bikes by the delivery trucks because it is safer. They go to the bike hangout. Sara meets with Karen and she tells that Brett was brought in for questioning of the burglaries and tells that he is not listening to her. She tells that her son Jeremy and her husband were killed in a “hunting accident”. She wants to stay there and raise Brett right and Sara feels sorry for her and comforts her.
Nick wonders why Abernathy was at the bike ramp and Nick sees that he knows how the burglar is doing it. He tells to remove all the lock downs and run as normal. Meanwhile, Abernathy is looking at all his collections and Westport Currier is there. But it is really Nick. He looks inside and sees all the stuff stolen. At the yogurt shop, Brett talks with Andie and Andie tells that she and Brett shouldn’t see each other because she doesn’t love Brett and that he deserves more then that. Brett tells that it is about Charlie, but she tells that she cares about Brett but not the same as he feels.

History teacher Abernathy is also a computer science major too and hacked in all the mainframe all to impress a girl. Lee tells Marcus that she was wrong about Teresa and excuses Marcus to go see his girlfriend. Lee looks around and finds a box. It is her item that she was looking for that belonged in her cabinet. She puts it in her bag. Andie meets Charlie at his home and she tells that she broke up with Brett. She tells that she feels different when she is with Charlie. She wants to take their relationship further and Charlie kisses her. Brett is at the bike park and he tells Lucas that he dumped Andie. He asks if he is ready to start running and he agrees. Mr. Abernathy enters his classroom and Lee is there. She tells that he robbed from the right people and shoots him. Claire’s phone rings. It is Christian and he asks if he will see her. She tells him yes. At her guest home, Lee replaces the box in the cabinet.
