The Golden Girls: To Catch a Neighbor

The girls throw a welcome party for their new neighbors, the McDowells, but after the festivities they are visited by two policemen, who inform them that the McDowells are actually dealers in stolen gems. After a bit of discussion, the girls allow the policemen to move into the house for a stakeout. Meanwhile, Dorothy falls for one of the policemen.

Episode Notes
Joseph Campanella (Al Mullins in this episode) and Betty White both, at different times, appeared on the long-running soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

George Clooney, now a successful Hollywood film star, was at the time of this episode an up-and-coming actor, who guest-starred in episode of sitcoms such as Roseanne and The Facts of Life. Television-wise, he is best-known for his role of Dr. Bob Ross on the long-running medical drama ER.

This episode was taped on February 27, 1987.

Blanche mentions her son Matthew in this episode. He would eventually be seen in the Golden Palace episode "Say Goodbye, Rose," played by Bill Engvall.
