Episode Notes
It is mentioned that Estelle Getty retired from acting. In truth, her dementia had worsened severely by this point to the extent she was unable to participate, though she can be seen in clips from the show as Sophia Petrillo. Sadly, Getty passed away in 2008.
When this special premiered, Lifetime followed it with the pilot and two-part series finale back-to-back.
Lifetime re-aired this special on November 12, 2005 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series.
