Bait and Switch - Recap

The Good Guys are back and they continue their season. The scene opens with Jack Bailey and a girl with a gun pointed at their heads. The girl tells him that she is sorry and Jack says that it is the worst date ever. A Car smashes through the window. The show flashbacks 34 hours earlier. Liz and Jack enter and talk with Detective Stark. Liz tells Jack that she is still on with the baseball game at the bar if he is. He tells her that the first round is on him and she lightly punches him in the arm. Stark notices this and says that he is going into the friend zone and that he is no longer a sexual threat to her. Stark tells that he is close to becoming one of the girls. The two detectives enter on Case #4374 “Broken Window”. Two ladies are outside and one tells that a rock was thrown at their window when they were lying in bed together. To this, Stark takes a step back and insists that they “show him the crime scene”. The next scene shows one of the girls in the bed and Stark is lying next to her to see how they were laying and what they were doing. Jack tries to stop Stark from going further but he insists that they follow through to the end. Reaching over for the lotion as a preferred possibility of what the girls were doing, he spots that street lights are broken outside. Somehow climbing in bed with the victim leads to some pretty solid police work.

A man is on the phone. His name is Nigel and he says that he cannot take stolen cars over the border by any other ways. He gets off the phone and tries to call his girlfriend but can’t get through. His partner tries to tell him that he simply needs to relax about the whole thing and to trust his girlfriend. They go to the train yard to run the cars but they are not running the trains but the man in charge would like $20,000 for finding them a empty warehouse to store the stolen cars. Nigel shoots him.

Back at the station, Stark tells Jack that he is needs to make Liz jealous. Jack talks to Kirsten from the Organized Crime Task Force and tells that there is a pattern of car thefts. She tells that there is no market for used cars and blows them off about it. She tells Jack if there are any more questions that he can contact her “directly”. She leaves grabbing his shoulder. Stark walks up and tells Jack to get on that and that she is giving him a sign. This is a way to get Liz jealous. Jack has an idea and it involves Stark’s new hotrod. He is not happy but with the tracking device, they could let the bad guys steal the car. But the only tracking device they know is on Julius. They visit Julius and tell that Julius needs to get in the trunk of the car so that they can use his tracking device and then they could track the car when it is stolen. Stark leaves him some snacks and water and tells that there is a release button. Nearly four hours later, Jack returns to the car after 30 minutes and Stark has not been watching out for the tracking of Julius but looking at porn. The computer crashes and gets a virus. They run out. The car is stolen. After a little bit, Jack gets the computer tracking back on and they find Julius, but the car is not there. Julius tells that he heard the voice of English car thieves and they flashback to 20 minutes earlier where he was running and jumping over a barb wire fence.

The three arrive on scene and see the cars. Stark wants to enter right now but Jack tells that he needs to get a warrant first and reminds that Julius said that they are armed and dangerous. In a bar, Nigel and his partner are meeting with truckers who want $400,000 to move their cars. But Nigel wants to lower the price and tries to intimidate them, but the truckers have their own intimidation of their own. Nigel gets a call and it is his girlfriend. After talking about how he loves her, he hangs up and accepts their deal. Back at the station, Jack is lecturing Stark over the fact that he eats the whole peanut shell and all and how they make drywall out of peanut shells. Kirsten from the Task Force enters and tells that the plates on all the cars were stolen. She tells that they are waiting for the warrant and then the Task Force is going to lead but Jack and Stark can come and watch. Kirsten asks how they found it and Stark tells the truth of locking Julius in the trunk of his car and Jack laughs it off and claims that they had a lead that they followed. She laughs and tells that it gives them a chance to “work together” Jack gets asked out on a date from Kirsten. At the sound that he is going on a date the day after a bust, Stark is a little disappointed and wanted to celebrate the first bust together. Kirsten is giving her speech and Stark tells the team that his car is not to get hurt. They enter and the car lot is empty. The scene cuts to 7 hours earlier. We find out that Kirsten is working with the car thieves. Kirsten talks with Nigel and tells that she has a date with Jack. He is not happy with it. The truckers are driving and they talk about how they should be the ones that should take the cars.

Back at the station, Jack tells Stark that he has a lunch with Kirsten and Stark makes it known loud enough for Liz to hear. She comes over and it is clear that she is jealous but shirks it off. Stark drops Jack off at his date and meets up with Julius. He wants him to get in the trunk and see if anything comes back to him. He tells that Nigel was talking to Kirsten. Realizing that Jack is meeting with her, he rushes to save the day. Meanwhile, Kirsten tells Nigel on the phone that they don’t want to kill Jack because it would be bad but he insists that she go and meet up with them. She tells Jack that they need to get out of the restaurant and go to his place. Stark is at Jack’s place and kicks in the door. The place is trashed. The scene cuts to 22 minutes earlier with Jack and Kirsten entering. They start kissing and Kirsten and Jack start to kiss but Kirsten puts a gun to him. She tells that her boyfriend is coming and that it was her that told the car thieves of the sting operation. He tackles her but looses the fight after she maces him in the face. The truckers are still talking about the plan of killing the English guys. Meanwhile Jack is in the back of the police van with Kirsten at the wheel. Stark tells Julius that it is them who are going to rescue Jack. Stark gets a radio transmission saying that the radio tracker was deactivated and reactivated. They cut to 11 minutes ago where we see Jack activating the tracking device and putting it on his ankle. Stark realizes that his has to be Jack.

Kirsten and Jack meet Nile and he is about to kill Jack until Jack tells Nigel that they went to Jack’s place before coming. Nigel wants to know if she slept with him. Jack tells that she has slept with half the Dallas Police Force. Now, Nigel wants to kill them both. But before he does, the truckers enter and shoot Nigel’s partner in the leg and tell that none of the cars are leaving. The whole time during this situation, Stark is trying to get the computer on by trying intimidation tactics and finally saying that he is loosing it. Julius helps him out and they go on the trail. Back in the warehouse the trucker is making the orders and finds out that Nigel was going to kill them anyways. Kirsten tries to talk to the trucker and tell that she will work with them. She apologizes to Jack and the car goes through the glass. The scene cuts back 1 minute earlier where Stark and Julius are peeking in through the window of the warehouse. Stark uses the computer to press on the accelerator and the car flies through the window. Stark enters in with guns blazing. Kirsten and Nigel escape and Kirsten grabs the gun first. She shoots Nigel. The truckers run out of ammunition and they run. Stark see them running and shoots a gas tank. The explosion knocks them out and the car that he has been trying to protect has a light falls on it. Jack runs after Kirsten and tackles her. Julius is there to grab the gun. Stark informs that the Trans-Am is alright! Liz walks in and tells Jack that he had the worst date ever and gives him a hug. Liz tells that she is glad that he is alright and admits that she was a little jealous. She offers to go out with him, but he has plans with his partner on the menu, Oysters and Beer until they puke!
