Silvio's Way - Recap
Northeast Dallas 3:27pm Code 41 in progress. Jack is getting beaten up by a man in a Speedo. It is Dan who is hitting him and is telling that he trusted him. Jack calls Dan a criminal and Dan keeps hitting him. Flashback two days earlier and Dan asks Jack if they are friends. He tells that they need to get inside of their heads and get to know each other if they are going to ever be like Starsky and Hutch. They go to an Electronics Store and it is a case of a vandalized mascot and the store owner tells that he needs to know what is going on and that he has $700 phones coming in and customers need to see that everything is alright. Meanwhile, at Garrick’s Drugstore a robbery is in progress. A young couple is clearing out the top shelf and they run out. Inside the car, they look at what they stole and it is nothing useful to sell.
At the station Jack tries to tell Lt. Ruiz that the pharmacy that was hit falls into their area and she tells that it is Drug Tasks Force and that the city can’t take Jack and Dan to work on two cases. She tells if they can solve the case without blowing up a warehouse or having a shootout, then they can do it. Jack calls Liz and she tells that she can’t answer every legal question that he has and tells that her supervisor yelled at her for spending too much time on Jack’s cases and that she has too much to do to answer the questions for a couple of days. Jack tells that he has plans with Dan. They are going to stake out the Electronics Store. Jack and Dan go to the Electronics Store and begin their stakeout to see who vandalized the mascot outside the building. Dan tells that they are going to use a video camera in the bushes and they are going to go get a few beers. Jack tells only a few.
At the bar, Dan asks why Jack never grew a mustache and he tells that he only looked like Hitler. Two beers later, and the topic got switched to cartoon ladies and who is the cutest. Four beers and two shots later, they talk about how his mom moved out to Dallas because of her allergies but Dan tells that it was something else. Six beers, a basket of wings, and four shots later, Jack tells that they need to get back to work and Dan says that they need code words. Jack asks what the code word for “let’s get out of here” and he tells that it is “Teresa”. Jack gets up and then talks about Liz and how she doesn’t want to date a cop. Dan tells that Jack cannot rehash the past. Suddenly „Caps” comes up and calls Dan “Silvio”. He tells that they all thought that he was dead and spent his cut of the $400,000. Dan, disguising his voice tells that Jack is a friend and he was just telling him not to dwell on the past. Caps suggests that he meet him at the original dinner. Caps leaves and Dan tells Jack that he can explain.
Dan and Jack exit the bar and Dan tells that 7 years ago he was working under cover with the mafia and he was in deep. Flashback 7 years ago and Dan a.k.a Silvio, has the group outside and giving directions to how things are going to go down. He tells that in 6 hours they will be rich. 12 hours later, Dan is waking up in his trailer. He looks at the clock. He was late to his own sting and the crooks got away with $400,000. Dan tells that he was fighting a cold and that he mixed alcohol with it. He tells Jack that they could catch them after 7 years and to forget about the vandalism case. Meanwhile the two that robbed the pharmacy before are at it again. This time they are going to rob an old man at a pharmacy and they ask for the stuff that they could sell. The young man tells that they don’t want to hurt anyone and the woman tells that they will. While they argue, the old man pulls out a shotgun and shoots at the couple they run and get in their car. As they drive off the old man shoots out their window.
Dan’s new persona is walking down the street and starts giving money to everyone and meets with Bobby Caps and the boys in the restaurant. He tells that he was jumped 7 years ago and was in a comma for 4 years. He asks to be included in the next job and Caps has a good idea. Back at the station, Dan is „undercover” and is talking in his “Silvio” voice and tells that he is going to go after the crooks. Lt. Ruiz tells that she is unsure and Jack reassures her when she tells that it is alright and Dan kisses Ruiz. She is disgusted and Jack tells that Dan is undercover still. At the location, Dan walks up and asks what the score is going to be. Caps tells that it is seafood. The shipment comes in and Ruiz and her team enter and tell them to open the crates. Ruiz tells them to dump it out. It is all shrimp. Back at the station Ruiz is upset that they wasted time opening containers of shrimp. Dan is still undercover and Ruiz tells that he is not undercover anymore. He ignores her. Later at Dan’s trailer, Jack tries to convince Dan to give up the mobsters and concentrate on the vandalism case at the Electronics Store. Dan tells that they are going to bring the crooks to the Electric store and solve the crime.
Dan meets with Caps and the others and tells about the shipment of phones that are coming in. One of the men says that Dan was the one that alerted the cops. Dan starts to walk out and Caps tells Dan to sit down and that everything is fine. Dan tells that the police won’t suspect a thing. Later at a dinner, Caps and his boys are talking about the heist and the young pharmacy robbers are talking about how useless their plans are. One of Caps’s men tells that he doesn’t trust “Silvio”. Caps reminds him that if “Silvio” was a cop, then he would have arrested them. The young robbers here their whole plan and tell each other that they are going to rip them off.
Jack puts a wire on Dan and tells that if he wants his help he is going to have to wear it. At the dinner bathroom, Dan is getting into character and Jack is listening in. Caps and the others come and Dan enters. But they know that Dan is a cop. Flashback 10 minutes earlier and Caps and his men go up to Jack in the car. They ask his name and he tells that it is Paulie the Duck. They see that he is listening to something. Back in the restaurant, they show that they tied up Jack and show that he is a cop. They tell Dan to strip and show the wire. Dan takes off his clothes and there is no wire. Flashback 15 minutes earlier and Dan is exiting the bathroom and takes off the wire. Back in the restaurant, he tells that he is clean and he tells that he has some words for the cop and punches Jack in the face a few times. Dan tells that no one else knows about the phones. But the pharmacy robbers are headed over the restaurant. Back in the restaurant Jack says Teresa and Dan takes Jack in the cooler and they talk about the plan for Jack is going to break out when they leave.
Dan gets out of the freezer and Caps and the boys tell that they are not bad guys anymore and that the men cleaned up and got careers. Meanwhile, Jack is untying himself but he forgot the one on his chest. Dan finds out that the guys are not criminals after the heist. Dan is about to tell them that he is a cop and the pharmacy robbers enter and shoot Caps in the arm. Dan describes the two robbers so that Jack can here as they leave. Jack scoots over to his phone and calls Liz. She doesn’t want anything to do nothing for him. He tells that he needs help and she tells that she cares about him but tells that she is going to turn off her phone. He gets angry and falls over and the chair breaks. He unties himself.
At the Electronics store, there is a shipment and Dan tells that they have the phone now they can go. But the two robbers tell that they are going to help them transfer the phones into their truck. As they are unloading, Caps tells Dan that he thinks the boxes are empty. Dan tells that he will explain and that he has to tell him something. But Jack comes up behind and aims his gun at the two robbers. Meanwhile, at the front of the store, the two kids that vandalize the store in the first place return and they are fired employees. They mess with the Mascot. At the rear Jack reveals Dan and Caps finds out that it was a sting. Dan tells that he was going to call it off when he found out that they weren’t crooks. The girl tells Jack only has one gun and can’t take them both out. Dan tells that he hasn’t been this scared since Jimmy Carter was president. Flashback 2 days earlier and Dan tells Jack that if they are ever in a multiple gunman fight, Regan means that you take out the guy on the right Carter means that you take out the guy on the left. Back with Dan and Jack, Jack doesn’t think that is a good idea. In the front of the store, the two kids smash the Mascot through the front of the store and the robbers are distracted. Jack and Dan tackle them and arrest them. Dan tells Caps and his boys to get out of there.
Back at the station, Ruiz, Dan and Jack are watching the video that the camera took of the vandalism of the Electronic Store and tells that not only did they catch the vandalism in progress, they also captured the pharmacy criminals. Jack is looking over files when Liz comes up. She apologizes for hanging up on him. He tells that he only calls Liz because she is the best at what she does. She tells that he is good at what he does too. She leaves and says that she will always be there for him.
