Recap

The episode begins in the court room with a woman who is devastated as she has lost all her life savings because of the defendant. Just then the Judge Cuesta receives a letter and asks all the attorneys to meet him in his chambers. Cuesta tells the attorneys that he is declaring a mistrial as he is being put in the penalty box and that they would be assigned a new judge. He asks Diane to stay and asks the rest to leave. He tells her that he needs a lawyer. Twenty years ago, when he was a prosecutor, he had put a wife killer in prison and now a recent DNA test proves that he might not be guilty and hence he is being investigated by the State Attorney. The court feels that Cuesta had handle the prosecution shabbily and kept things from the defense and hence the penalty box. ..
