Having tired of her mother's attempts to talk to her about sex, Bliss decides to join an abstinence group. Now that adopted son Ubuntu has turned 16, he wants to learn to drive a car.

2 :01x02 - Pleatherheads

Gerald and Helen have a tough time adjusting when Ubantu becomes a high school football star. Meanwhile, Bliss works to improve her chances of getting into her top college choice.

3 :01x03 - Goodes Gone Wild

Helen finds a way to win Charlie's approval when he becomes attached to one of the pets at the pet adoption center. However, the animal happens to be Gutterball, a disgusting animal, who Helen is forced to take in because Charlie's home is not pet friendly. Meanwhile, Che helps Gerald with the college's squirrel infestation.

4 :01x04 - Helen's Back

The Goodes' chances of being featured on the all-important organic garden tour is threatened when Helen injures her back. Help in form of a Latino gardening crew comes their way, along with a former Burmese childhood pen pal of Helen's. The Goodes discover they have unknowingly exploited the workers, just as the committee arrives to inspect their garden. Meanwhile, Ubuntu and Bliss try an experiment in the new economy tactic of "trading up."

5 :01x05 - A Tale of Two Lesbians

Helen invites famed "Freegan" Heinrich to Greenville, as a way to gather support for their Eco festival. Henrich is put in charge for a movement in which the followers live off the waste left behind by others. The Goodes can't get Freegan to leave and quickly realize that he is nothing more than a freeloader.

6 :01x06 - Freeganomics

Greenville is hosting an Eco Festival, and Helen has an invited guest to attend who ends up being nothing more than a freeloader.

7 :01x07 - Graffiti in Greenville

Helen decides to become a secret tagger when she discovers that Bliss' new community service job cleaning up graffitti is really bogus. But after "Huggos" receives media attention and an Oxford professor declares it the work of a new major urban "artist," Helen wants to tell the world that she's the one responsible.

8 :01x08 - A Goode Game of Chicken

Gerald takes on Cranky a local celebrity chef when he uses chicken in his "meatless" chili dish. Meanwhile, Che is missing.

9 :01x09 - After-School Special

While Helen and Gerald tutor some at risk kids after school, their own children are left to their own devices. Ubuntu joins an ecoterrorist group unknowingly, and Bliss begins a business of selling fake ID's.

Gerald hopes to raise enough money to bring a Public Broadcasting Radio station to Greenville, and things are looking good in doing so, but an old lady's donation of $100,000 may cost her to lose her home.

12 :01x12 - Gerald's Way or the Highway

In hopes of raising the social consciousness to his children, Gerald adopts a highway to show how one person can make a difference. Things don't go as planned when the Goodes get involved in a turf war after discovering the road is a drop off area for drugs by Neo-Nazi prisoners.

13 :01x13 - A Goode Man Is Hard to Find

Gerald is convinced that Trish and Mo want him to be a sperm donor so they can have a child. Meanwhile, Charlie decides it's time to take Ubuntu under his wing and teach him how to be a man, after his grandson sprouts his first facial hair, much to Gerald and Helen's dismay.
