Cultural References

Dirk: You must have a touch of a Don Quixote in you, Hornet.
Hornet: I don't tilt at windmills, my friend.

Don Quixote is the hero of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's early 17th century novel Don Quixote de la Mancha. Tilting, in the context of the novel, means to joust. The phrase itself never appears in the novel: in fact, the first appearance of the phrase "tilt at windmills" is in Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile in 1937.
