Beatrice finds employment at the photographic studio of Jack Maddox and Evie becomes embroiled in Penny Maddox's philanthropic causes. The sisters begin to socialise, much to the concern of cousin Arthur. Evie tracks down her father's mistress but is disturbed by what she discovers.
