The opening narration said it all: Dr. David Banner is a well-respected physician who is caught in an accident at the lab he worked in. Banner was believed dead after the accident, and has led people to still believe that, traveling around the country with different aliases. But when Banner grew angry, he transformed into a monstrosity of rage: The Incredible Hulk!
