The Legend of Tarzan

The Legend of Tarzan

Disney's The Legend Of Tarzan is the spin-off of the movie Tarzan. In this series, Tarzan is married to Jane, while still living in the jungle. We see Tarzan as he gets used to being a husband and the lord of the apes. There are characters from the movie, like Kala, the Professor, Terk, and Tantaur, as well as some new characters, like Queen La, and Philander.

This series was supposed to be Toon Disney's first original series, but ultimately was sent to air on UPN.

Disney's The Legend of Tarzan has released two DVDs so far. The first being Tarzan & Jane featuring the episodes, Tarzan and the British Invasion, Tarzan and the Volcanic Diamond Mine, and Tarzan and the Flying Ace. The next DVD release was Tarzan II (2). It is one of Disney's many pre-quals that is about Tarzan as a kid struggling to fit in with the apes. There is also the movie Disney\'s Tarzan which is now out of print.

Although Disney has finished with all Tarzan movies, and shows the fun is just starting! In 2006 Tarzan will make its way to broadway musical. The project had been in the development stage for several years.

Although Tarzan only lasted for 39 episodes it was still a highly popular show. This was probably do to the frequent changes in UPN scheduling.
