The scene opens with Teresa telling Grace about the FBI giving her a call regarding the investigation of Craig Laughlin’s death. She also tells Grace that an FBI agent had been trying to reach her. Grace looks evasive, though conceding to the fact that she did receive a few messages. Teresa gives Grace the necklace that was returned by the FBI agent; and which was given to her by Laughlin. They are informed of a call regarding a shooting. Grace is visibly disturbed by the necklace, as it reminds her of the past incidents. Meanwhile, along with Patrick and the gang, the FBI is called to investigate the death of Gabriel Prochetto, the son of a mob boss who was shot to death in his hot tub. A horrible way to die. Patrick deduces from the name “Prochetto” that the boss is possibly Argentinean. It turns out that, Gabriel and his younger brother were celebrating his planned takeover of his father’s business, so the natural thing to do is to hire some hookers and have some special one-on-one time.

The only thing is that this did not have a happy ending (pun not intended.)According to Curtis Nett, the enforcer, Gabriel was with the hooker Janpen, when he was killed. Jane, Van Pelt, and Cho go to talk to her; she conveniently pretends not to speak English, but Jane is able to trip her up. She explains that she doesn’t want to snitch on the mob bosses son, but Van Pelt threatens to charge her with prostitution. Van Pelt ends up taking Janpen to the CBI offices, but they get lost in the woods leaving the victim’s compound. An SUV that happens to pass by stops and the driver steps out to asks if they need help. Van Pelt politely declines, but then the man pulls out a gun and starts shooting. Van Pelt guns the car fleeing the scene, but the car ends up flipping over and rolling down a hill with Van Pelt behind the wheel and Janpen in the backseat. Van Pelt and Janpen are both okay, but they need to find help and make it back to the main road before their would-be killer finds them. Meanwhile, Jane and Lisbon visit Gabriel’s father, Prochetto Senior to see what they can find out.
They meet with the father, the mother, Iris and the family’s lawyer. Apparently, Prochetto Senior is dying from cancer, so Jane trades his technique for sleeping for information on who could have killed Gabriel. Prochetto, says that it was the Zetas. He says that he wanted to move into their territory to expand his “business”. With the help of the DEA, the FBI is able to get their hands on a Zeta member. Jane of course is the one to interrogate him and uses what looks like a hypnosis method to get the guy to spill the beans. The Zeta member explains that no Zeta would kill the son, for fear of retribution from the father. He does however let slip that the son got into a fight with biker a while back. Back in the woods, Van Pelt starts hallucinating seeing her dead fiancé, Craig, going as far as having conversations with “him.” Albeit a tad weird, some interesting pieces of insight take place, with them discussing how Van Pelt sensed that something was off about Craig going so far as suggesting that she liked the danger that lurked below the surface.
At the same time, Rigbsy finds video footage of an SUV leaving the area of the crime and the guy behind the wheel, is identified as Marquet, a well-known hit man. He also happens to be the very same man who was shooting at Van Pelt and Janpen, earlier. Rigsby is also able to figure out that the search team that has been looking for the two having been searching in the wrong area, so he and Cho head out to see if they can find the pair. Jane heads back to Prochetto Senior’s house to see if he can acquire any new information. He manages to unearth quite a bit. He is able to deduce that the senior Prochetto’s wife and his lawyer are having an affair. It is evident that he suspects something, but he doesn’t say anything only that he wants to speak to Prochetto. He is able to convince Prochetto to have some vodka and gets him drunk enough to be able to send him to the hospital and through some clever trickery convince everyone that Prochetto Senior has passed away.

The youngest son doesn’t take it too well and decides to threaten both the FBI agents. Curtis, the enforcer, reins him in telling him that he would do no such thing since he is head of the “business.” Supposedly, all of Prochetto’s employees are behind him on this, which deeply upsets the wife and the lawyer; since they were about to stage their own coup as well. Jane is able to figure out that Curtis is the one who hired Marquet to kill Gabriel, so that he can move up the ladder. Curtis denies the allegations vehemently, up until the point where Jane threatens to tell Prochetto Senior everything that Curtis did to his eldest son. Curtis is shocked to know that the Senior Prochetto is still alive and kicking, and admits to everything. In the woods, Van Pelt and Janpen are close to finding the main road, when once again Marquet shows up and starts shooting. There is some exchange of gun fire, and fortunately Van Pelt is able to kill Marquet.
Craig once again mysteriously appears to warn Van Pelt to watch her back; just then she narrowly misses Janpen who was about to club Van Pelt with a tree branch. After a minor scuffle between the two, Van Pelt is able to handcuff Janpen, just as Rigsby appears out of nowhere with the search team to save her. Apparently, Janpen is an accomplice in the murder, and was Marquet’s partner. Her role was to get close to the victim, so that Marquet would have an opportunity to take the kill shot. Rigsby is very happy to see that Van Pelt is fine; the two share a nice long hug that happens to be witnessed by Sarah, Rigsby’s girlfriend. The hugging abruptly stops when they notice Sarah. Sarah too expresses her relief at Van Pelt being safe, sound and unharmed; though she looks visibly disturbed by what she saw transpire between Sarah and Rigsby.

The episode comes to an end with Rigsby and Sarah heading out to dinner. As the two wait for the elevator, Rigsby apologizes for the awkwardness of having her see him and Van Pelt hug each other earlier; he tries to reassure Sarah that nothing is going on between him and Van Pelt. Sarah does her best to put on a happy face, but from her expressions it is visibly clear that she doesn’t believe him. As the doors to the elevator open and the two walk in, is when Sarah decides to tell Rigsby that she is pregnant. From the looks of it; Rigsby surely hadn’t seen that one coming. The episode ends.
