Excellent show, awesome characters in a great background. I love the center balance on politics.

As for this show being awesome - I'd describe this show as a Bugatti Veyron with a couple of dodgy tires and cracked rear-view mirror = completely awesome were it not for a few of niggles - Mackensive, Charlie and Maggie. Oh yes, and all that "f*** this" and "f*** that". I'm no prude but it just sounds weird when they say it.

I love this show, after watching 3 episodes it seems to get better and better.

Yeah, I don't have any major complaints, just finished watching the third episode and I thought it was quite good.

I didn't think the cursing sounded out of place.

LOVE it. Barely noticed the cursing. Seemed appropriate when used. Didn't seem gratuitous.

I don't think it is gratuitous or inappropriate. It's.. just as I could never 'buy' the 3 new Charlie's Angels as highly skilled, kickass crime fighters... I just don't buy (1) the X LAO Top Prosecuter man as a drunk and (2) the British(?) lady as a top notch tv news producer - so maybe hearing them be all sweary was guaranteed to sound "just wrong" to my ears (sensitive that they are).
Hopefully I'll either warm to them or (if not) be able to enjoy the rest of this potentially most excellent show whilst blanking out all the icky stuff - like wot I do with Burn Notice when they start mentioning Fi being in the IRA.

This show is excellent. we need to know what goes on behind the scenes and this pretty much sums it up!! Too bad more shows aren't made like this one

I'm glad to see a show that curses - LIKE REAL PEOPLE DO.

I love love love this show!! I cannot get enough of it. The characters are incredible and the writing is quick and edgy. The swearing is NOT inappropriate in the least. If anything I'd say they're toning it down a little. Especially for an HBO show where usually every other word begins with an F! It is a real show, with real people and real situations. I love the honesty and humor with just a touch of personal drama.

You all get that I'm not against swearing on tv, am not saying it is out of place in the scripts for Newsroom, right ?! It's just when those two actors, playing those two roles, are saying those lines, well I'm just not buying it. Their portrayals of those two characters doesn't do it for me. That's it.

I personally think that's what makes it more authentic. When my daughter hears me drop the F bomb, she knows I'm serious and needs to stop screwing around as I almost never use it. Sort of for emphasis.

I love the show overall, it makes fun of all of the characters including the white-male lead, it shows all their strengths and flaws.

I love the cursing, as I do it in real life. Its a perfect fit, as you don't even really notice it, because when they use them, its justified, and not just to say the word.

Critics say it makes fun of women, but EVERY character has flaws - and strengths - MacKensie may be a little axieous all the time, and clumsy, but when she gets in the control room, as EP for the show, she owns - and has no fear.

I love the criticism of the news media.
