The Newsroom (2012)

One of the Better TV shows out thereRating: 3 likes, 2 dislikes
While I do have my dislikes about this show, the writing is stellar. Quite possibly the Best TV Show that has ever represented Network News Broadcasting. What sets this show apart is that it deals with real world events. It also follows my own personal Political philosophy in that Big Government has taken over and caters ONLY to Big Business. Also this show amply deals with how Every real Life News Program only cares about Ratings and Not about showing "the News" in an unbiased light.
My faults with the show not with standing are leveled on the Mackenzie Character. that Woman has to be the Most IRRITATING Female Ever to set foot on Planet Earth. Her Constant Screaming and shrill Voice just are so annoying. She cuts people off when they want to discuss anything to blatantly Preach to them. And serious she screams, the Woman does not know how to talk in a Normal voice. I just wonder if Sorkin realizes that he went way too far with making her that TOO IRRITATING ! Also the Associate female producer, is just the most naive of adults. he Love in front and center in each episodes story line, and honestly it does the show dis-service big time.
Whilst one must applaud Sorkin for his awesome rendition of what "the Nightly News" is really like. But on the other Hand how he sheds light on the Females on this show is just insane. All 3 major Female Characters have Major personal interaction flaws. One would have thought that these characterizations are really not necessary for this show. But regardless I love the show a Big Thumbs up !

Wow ...!Rating: 2 likes, 3 dislikes
I had downloaded the premier of this show, and ... well, I forgot that I had done so.

By the time I remembered that I had it on my hard drive, the show was on about the sixth or seventh episode ... so I watched that first episode.

At about the 30 minute mark, I started downloading the rest of the episodes, though I forced myself to limit myself to one a day.

Having been a fan of Aaron Sorkin's "West Wing" from a few years back, I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to be getting with this new show -- and thankfully, I was right: Drama, humor, tough situations, amazing ideas -- all the stuff Mr. Sorkin was famous for when he was the show runner on "West Wing."

I particularly liked the idea they came up with for the presidential debates. :o) That format definitely would weed out the bozos that shouldn't be there.

Yes, the dialog is fast (and I'm not ashamed to say that I had to do some rewinding when someone walked in at the wrong time), but as a "West Wing" watcher from back in the day, I was used to it.

Bottom line, if you liked "West Wing" (*BEFORE* Mr. Sorkin walked off the show), you'll be quite at home with "The Newsroom." At the risk of sounding cliché, "Two thumbs up."

could have been GREATRating: 0 likes, 11 dislikes
I voted a 1 (one) not because of the acting nor the story line but because I cannot follow the story because they are talking so fast!
I'm familiar with the topic - news/journalism - and we do not talk that fast. I have spoken and discus this tv show with colleges and friends and we all say the same thing Great acting, good actors, but nobody in the news business talks or communicates this fast. I do not mind taking time and watch a good acting show, but I realy need to follow the line, and with the newsroom its not possible.
