Sandy attempts to make up for hiding Rebecca's return from Kirsten by planning a romantic Valentine's Day. Zach, Seth and Summer travel to San Diego to meet with a company about their comic book, but Seth focuses more on getting Summer back then pitching the comic book. Meanwhile, Julie returns from her vacation determined to reconnect with Marissa, and Ryan and Lindsay try to spend Valentine's Day together, but her relationship with Caleb interferes.
Julie: Marissa, when I was in Europe, I did some real soul searching.
Marissa: I hope you didn't hurt yourself.
(After Kirsten puts the roses down the garbage disposal)
Seth: Looks like I'm not the only one at odds with the universe.
Caleb: I'm sorry, Ryan. I know it wasn't easy for you to string so many words together.
Sandy: There are days that I think me and Kirsten are bulletproof. I don't wanna test that theory.
Summer: You know what? My teeth are all plaque-y. I'm gonna go for a last-minute floss.
Seth: So, for Valentine's Day, you're giving Lindsay ... Grandpa?
Seth: Our noses grazed. And it was like the most sexually charged nose-graze in the history of nose grazes. It's essentially nose-humping, is what it is.
