Ryan decides to visit his mother, but before he is able to do so, the advances of her co-worker delays him. In Newport, Taylor and Summer team up to figure out what Seth is hiding, but Summer is hurt in the process when their plan backfires. Meanwhile, Julie confronts Volchok in order to give him advice, and Marissa confronts Volchok's friends in order to get a girl out of a potentially bad situation. Sandy is able to fix the problems with Matt, but ends up neglecting Kirsten in the process.

| (to Seth while standing on the coffee cart)
Summer: Look, I love you this much, and I wanna be with you now, and next year, and whatever comes after that. So I'm asking, in the presence of this coffee cart and the sacred moment that it represents, if you can honestly tell me that you don't love me anymore.
Seth: I don't love you anymore. | Taylor: In the rock-paper-scissors of romance, love trumps fear. Actually, love trumps everything. | Seth: Hello?
Ryan: Hey man.
Seth: How's Albuquerque?
Ryan: Well, I did just hook up with a waitress.
Seth: Aww, that never happened to me, stallion. | Kirsten: (to Ryan) Well, whatever happens you have at least one proud mother watching you when you graduate. | Summer: The only thing that would make me feel better is seeing that assless gutless wus skinned and flayed and served as assless, gutless wuss tartare. | Julie: Listen up, Tommy Lee. You're just the latest in a series of experiments my daughter likes to make when acting out. So enjoy it because right here, right now is as good as it gets for you. Soon, Marissa is going to wake up and realize she is so much better than you and your life. |

| Julie: Listen up, Tommy Lee.
Tommy Lee is a musician and drummer for the band Mötley Crüe. Lee has been romantically linked to several actresses, most notably Pamela Anderson. |
