Both Captain Oats and Princess Sparkle are plastic horses -- Captain Oats is Seth's, Princess Sparkle is Summer's. The horses are often used as sidekicks by Seth and Summer.

Cardio Barre is the workout studio of choice for the Newport women, especially Julie Cooper.
| Newpsie:
A "Newpsie" is the term used to describe the wealthy, self-centered Newport wife.
| The Valley:
The Valley is Summer's favorite TV series that, like The O.C., follows the lives of California teens in the San Fernando Valley. The characters in The Valley, and often times the storylines, are similar to those of The O.C. and are often used as a way for OC writers and producers to self-mock. In "The L.A.", the gang heads to L.A. where they meet the cast of The Valley.
