Episode Quotes |
| |
Pam: You missed two big conference calls today. One with Corporate.
Michael: Oh, did you explain why?
Pam: No, I didn't mention that you cooked your foot.
Michael: BURNED my foot, Pam. | Pam: (On the phone) What?
Michael: Come here please.
Pam: Tell me before I come there.
Michael: I want you to butter my foot.
Pam: No!
Michael: Pam, please. I have Country Crock.
Pam: No. | Jim: So I guess Pam and Dwight are friends now.
Pam: Oh, God no, Dwight isn't my friend. (Realizing) Oh my God, Dwight's kind of my friend! | Michael: Can I ask all of you a question? Do any of you know what it's like to be disabled? Oscar?
Phyllis: Um, I had Scoliosis as a girl.
Michael: Never heard of it. No, a real disability, not a woman's trouble.
Creed: When I was a teenager, I was in an iron lung.
Michael: What? How, how old are you? The point is, I am the only one here who has a legitimate disability. Although I'm sure Stanley has had his fare share of obstacles.
Stanley: I'm not disabled, and neither are you.
Michael: Okay. (Throws crutch) What does this look like to you, Stanley?
Stanley: (Looks at Michael's foot wrapped in bubble-wrap) Mail Boxes Etc.? | Ryan: I ground up four extra-strength aspirin, and put them in Michael's pudding. I do the same thing with my dog, to get him to take his heartworm medicine. | Michael: Dwight, what is your middle name?
Dwight: Danger.
Michael: Something with a "K."
Jim: It's Kurt. Wow... it's so sad that I know that. |

Episode Goofs |

No cameras were allowed beyond a certain point in the hospital, but the documentary crew's camera got into the room with the nurse. Also, the nurse says that no metal of any kind is allowed in the room when Dwight gets his CAT scan, but actually metal is not allowed near an MRI/fMRI machine; it is not a problem around a CT/CAT machine. | Michael confirms that Ryan got his take-out chicken from Stroudsburg. That would have been out of the way, as Stroudsburg is over 45 miles from Scranton. This was only slightly less odd than Ryan's retrieving of pudding cups from a gas station in Carbondale, over 15 miles away. |

Cultural References |

Jim: You burned, YOUR foot, on a Foreman Grill.
Jim is referring to the George Foreman "Lean, Mean, Grilling Machine." The Foreman Grill, marketed through infomercials by former boxer George Foreman, is a very popular product. | Dwight: Oh, man, is that a Prism DuroSport?
This is a reference to the Prism MP3 Player. | Michael: Imagine if you had left Stevie Wonder on the floor of that bathroom instead of me.
Phyllis: Oh, we wouldn't, we love Stevie Wonder.
Stevie Wonder, born in 1950, overcame his blindness to become one of the most successful singer/songwriters of all time. | Jim: Question. Why is Tom Hanks on the wall?
Ryan: Twice.
Jim and Ryan are referring to Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks, known for his roles in the films Forest Gump, Philadelphia, and Big. | Michael: Did you see Born On The 4th Of July? I was under the impression that Billy would be more like that guy.
Born On The 4th Of July is a film about a disabled Vietnam veteran, released in 1989. Tom Cruise starred as Ron Kovic. |

Visual: The Prism DuroSport
Pam shows Dwight the Prism DuroSport that Roy bought her for Christmas. This is similar to the iPod she received during the Yankee Swap game in the episode "Christmas Party." Roy said because she got the iPod, he didn't need to buy her one, but Pam later traded that gift to Dwight. It appears that Roy did get her something similar (but cheaper) after all. |
