Meanwhile, Andy and Kevin fight to earn back the Dunder Mifflin parking spaces that were taken by other businesses in their building, and Jim and Pam discuss the future of their relationship.

| Jim reveals that he bought Pam an engagement ring after their first week of dating. He's just waiting for the right time to "pop the question."
| We learn in this episode that the five businesses of Scranton Business Park are nicknamed, "The Five Families" by the employees. The bosses include Michael Scott of Dunder Mifflin, Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration, Paul Faust of Disaster Kits Limited (often called "Cool Guy Paul"), W.B. Jones of W.B. Jones Heating and Air (called a "grade A bad ass"), and Bill Cress of Cress Tool and Dye, who is a really mean old man.

| Pam: Tell them what we saw today Jim.
Jim: Oh today, we saw a junk yard dog attacking the bones of a rotisserie chicken.
Pam: Nature!
| Creed: When Pam gets Michael's old chair, I get Pam's old chair. Then I'll have two chairs. Only one to go.
| Jim: You just got yourself kicked out of your apartment.
Pam: Oh I don't care, I didn't really like that place that much anyway. I'll just move.
Jim: Oh really? Who's gonna take you in? You're messy. You're a klutz, you spill everything. And you leave the volume on the TV way too loud.
Pam: Yeah, maybe I'll just move in with my boyfriend, 'cause he's kind of a slob, too.

Pam: Hmm... I don't know.
Jim: Oh, well, that's coming.
Pam: Oh, right now?
Jim: No. Not gonna do it right here, that would be rather lame.

Michael: Okay, Wendy. Hot and juicy red head... give this a try.
Kevin jokingly gave Michael the phone number for Wendy's restaurant. The Wendy's logo is a red-headed girl, and their slogan is "hot and juicy" burgers.

The song they sing (with their new words) is the melody to "American Pie" which was a number one hit song by Don McLean in 1972.

| Michael: (to Pam) Oh, yeah, maybe, but remember after my dinner party when I said that I was swearing off women?
Michael is referring to the dinner party he and Jan threw in the previous episode, "Dinner Party." He and Jan had a fight and apparently broke up.
