The Promise is a drama series which following the lives of an 18-year-old Londoner as she visits present-day Israel and her grandfather, a soldier in the British peace-keeping force during 1940s Palestine.

Erin refuses to give up her quest to find Mohammed's family, even when it takes her on a dangerous journey into Gaza. Len's diary records from1947 shows that Jews are out on the streets celebrating the British decision to withdraw from Palestine. In Haifa the exodus of Arabs has started and Len is worried about the safety of Mohammed and his family. Len takes them to the port but in the chaos at the dock gates, something happens that wasn't expected. Len ends up making a promise to Mohammed,that will end up ultimately determining the fate of both their lives.
