Sarah Thomkins (Parker Posey
) has it all: a great job as an editor, an assistant, Buddy, who keeps her life together, and a no-strings-attached relationship with Marcus Sonti (Scott Cohen
), a successful businessman. But despite it all, her father, Ronald (Ron McLarty
) constantly points out that Sarah's missing a lot in her life. She's successful at the work she does, but when she leaves, Sarah goes home to an empty house. Aware that time is ticking away, Sarah makes a decision to have a baby on her own, but is devastated to find out that she is unable to get pregnant.
Not able to take no for an answer, Sarah concocts a plan. She meets with her quirky younger sister, Coco (Lauren Ambrose
), and asks her to be a surrogate to her child. Having not seen her older sister in awhile, Coco initially refuses, but changes her find when Sarah tells her that she turned Coco's childhood imaginary friend, Jezebel James, into a children's book. Touched, and knowing that living on her friend's couch is not the life she wants, Coco agrees. Can these two estranged sisters raise a child on their own?
This massive clunker of a series ended after only three episodes aired on Fox.
