The Saturday Early Show: Avoiding Artery-Clogging Trans-Fats, Joshua Bell

HEALTHWATCH -- TRANS-FATS 101: This week, officials in New York City proposed banning the use of trans-fats in restaurants. Trans-fats, which have been linked to heart disease, are also found in many products you buy at the supermarket. Our Dr. Mallika Marshall will explain what you can do to avoid these artery cloggers.

POSH MOM: We will talk to Amy Nebens and Jara Nagrin, co-creators of poshmom.com. They define a posh mom as a new breed of mother who is hip, savvy, and sensational. She was fabulous before kids -- at work, at home, at a cocktail party -- and she still is, doing it all with style, smarts, grace, and seemingly without effort.

A GOOD DOG: Author Jon Katz on his new book, "The Story of Orson, Who Changed My Life," about his "lifetime dog." He says Orson is a beautiful border collie who is intense, smart, crazy and unforgettable.

SATURDAY STYLE -- TERRARIUMS: If you think you can't grow houseplants, you've never tried a terrarium. Stephen Orr of House & Garden says these beautiful glass containers are the easiest way to grow plants indoors, and they can be stunning. Steve will show us several styles of terrariums and everything we need to know to start our own.

SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT -- FILM TEACHER: A few years back, Los Angeles native Brad Koepenick started a temporary job teaching at a local charter school as part of his research for a screenplay he was writing. But even he could not have anticipated this Hollywood ending. Koepenick discovered a real passion for teaching film and drama, and he recently was named California Charter School Teacher of the Year.

CHEF ON A SHOESTRING: Tara Duggan is the author of "The Working Cook: Fast and Fresh Meals for Busy People." Her recipes combine top-quality convenience foods with fresh produce, meats and fish. The result is an easy-to-prepare, healthy meal that can be on the table in less than 40 minutes. Tara will make a three-course meal for four, on our $40 budget.
Menu: Microwave Baba Ghanoush, Broiled Swordfish with Saffron Orzo,
Espresso-Chocolate Pudding

SECOND CUP CAFE -- JOSHUA BELL: The classical violinist and Grammy winner will perform music from his latest CD, "Voice of the Violin."
