The Shield: Streaks And Tips

When a high profile car jacking case involving a public official is declared by Aceveda as the Barn's main focus, the feuding Strike Team and Decoy Squad decide to place an unusual bet over who'll be the first to bust the culprit. The bet? Losing team has to streak the Barn. Dutch investigates an attempted murder case between two brothers that involves a repeated case of acute food poisoning. He uses hostile tactics to get a confession from one of the brothers whom he believes is at fault for trying to kill the other brother. With Claudette's absence due to overseeing the Decoy and Strike Team, Dutch soon finds himself in hot water and needs her help on the case to bail him out. As the two rival teams race to find the culprit of the car jacking case, tension between Shane and Tavon only gets worse and eventually explodes with shocking results when a fist fight leads to Tavon getting in a horrible car crash. Meanwhile Danny begins to think she'd be a better influence on Julien as a partner when she and Lucas respond to a domestic abuse call at Julien's house. Vic and the Strike Team eventually prevail and nab the car-jacking culprit, proving that they are still on top.

Episode Quotes
Claudette: Home come you didn't report what you saw to us immediately?
Witness: I went home to change first, put some makeup on.
Aceveda: Why?
Witness: I saw all the cameras. I need the tape. I been out here for six months with nothing to show for it. You can't land a gig without a tape.
Claudette: You're an actress?
Witness: You have any idea how tough it is?
Aceveda: Aren't you worried that these killers now know you can identify them?
Witness: They don't know my name.
Aceveda: It's on the news, right?
Witness: But they won't know where I live.
Claudette: Are you in the phone book?
(the witness looks around nervously)
Witness: Y'all are gonna protect me, right?

Vic: Oh, that's cold.
Detective Waylon Burke: Not as cold as your gonna be. I'm gonna crank up the A.C. in the clubhouse so your sac shrinks.
(Waylon walks away)
Vic: (under his breath) I'll shrink your sac.

Shane: (shaking hands with Tavon) You comin' her and apologizin', I get that. Just as long as you know you're place, we'll be all right.
Tavon: My place, huh? What, like the back of the bus?
Shane: What, you think you're driving the bus?
Tavon: Damn it, Shane, you know what? He - He doesn't want to hurt your little feelings, but Vic has plans for me.
Shane: He's my best friend. He's been my best friend for seven years. You really think he's gonna push me aside for some darkie?

Dutch: I was trying something new. Trying a, you know, curveball to my fastball.
Claudette: Don't tell me you played "bad cop."
Dutch: Well you weren't up there to stop me.
Claudette: I know you could handle this.
Dutch: Ninety percent of the time, yes. Ten percent, there's a connection. We- it's like you-
Claudette: Please, don't say, I complete you. (Ducth stands stunned.) Go up there and give it one more shot.

Episode Goofs
It would have been virtually impossible for Tavon to have been thrown from his van at the speed he was traveling--head through the windshield, yes--completely ejected, no.
