While serving the injunctions, Vic comes across a drunk man in a bar, who turns out to be an undercover DEA agent. Monica makes a deal with the DEA to trade information on Antwon and the 1-Niner's drug trade. After a botched bust-caused by Shane tipping Antwon – they get a lead that points to a local church. Monica and Vic raid the church, against the desires of the Reverend, and find several kilos of heroin concealed in imported church candles. Dutch and Claudette investigate the murder of Raine, a young accounting clerk at an electronics store. Several leads take them to Kleavon Gardner, a suspected serial killer from San Antonio. Raine's diary, however, reveals a co-worker who feared Raine would turn him in for skimming goods off the company's loading trucks.

Episode Notes

This is the first of the two episodes former Angel writers Sarah Fain & Elizabeth Craft wrote for the fourth season of The Shield.

Kenny actually hits Walton a little on the job. When Walton feels his lip, it from a real hit.

When Vic says Billings was looking for a guy with a 211, that means he was suspected of Armed Robbery.

We learn that injunctions have been placed on the One-Niners, making it hard for them to operate in groups.

Episode Quotes

Monica: We do the bust for you, get the heroin off the street. You get closer to Antwon Mitchell, and your agent's cover isn't busted.
Lamberti: You're making a lot of assumptions.
Monica: The DEA's set up on a One-Niner bar, One-Niners are front and center on the tar trade. I'm a local, not a moron.

Dutch: You know I thought I hated being on the DA's shit-list, but this is actually worse. I, I can't believe you're still freezing me out.
Claudette: I can't believe you sold me out.

Vic: DUTCHBOY! Hero of the hour!
Dutch: Daughter was sick, she wanted her mother.
Vic: You can't take a joke, so you make me look like a prick in front of my ex!
Dutch: I'm sure your ex doesn't need any help from me seeing what kind of a prick you are.
