• Production wraps on final season

The Decemeber 24th issue of TV Guide reports that The Shield has not been directly effected by the Writer's Strike. All the scripts for the season's 13 episodes were completed before the strike commenced, but creator Shawn Ryan was not present on the set. Series star Michael Chiklis, who holds a producer credit, said it was "really difficult," and had to more or less take over in Ryan's absence.

FX has not scheduled any airdates for the season, hoping that if the strike ends soon enough, Ryan will be able to "tinker" with the final episodes, though Chiklis is prepared to take up the task should he have to.
