The Simpsons: Four Regrettings And A Funeral

Four Springfielders are prompted to try to right past regrets following the funeral of a beloved neighbor. Homer regrets selling his Apple stock to buy a bowling ball, Marge worries she caused Bart’s rebellious streak, Mr. Burns reminisces about a romance he gave up with a beautiful Parisian woman and Kent Brockman admits he was too afraid to leave local news and follow his former partner Rachel Maddow to cable news.

Chalkboard Gag

The message on the board was a tribute to Marcia Wallace who passed away on October 25th 2013, a week and a half prior to the episode's airing.

Couch Gag

This extra long couch gag was a direct homage to the movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey released in December 2012.

It opens on a closeup of a map of Springfield.

It shows various area on the map, Shelbyville, Land of Chocolate, Critter Country, Funkytown, LAX Self Parking, The James L Brook, ending with

The Simpsons representing various Hobbit characters.

The long journey culminating back in their living room where Homer plops down on the couch and when Bart objects, Homer says 'Get your own couch'.
