While facing an angry mob, Bart tells the story of how he stole the head off the statue of town founder, Jebediah Springfield, in order to impress local thug, Jimbo Jones, and his friends, Dolph and Kearney.

Couch Gag: The family rushes in and crams onto the couch. Bart pops out and comes crashing down seconds later in front of the TV as the opening credits end.
The full name of Springfield's town founder is Jebediah Obediah Zachariah Jebediah Springfield.
