Couch Gag: Santa's Little Helper is sleeping on the couch. When everyone comes running in, he gets up and growls ferociously.

Horst: (Sinister) Okay, Mr. Burns, you win. But beware. We Germans aren't all smiles and sunshine.
Mr. Burns: (Sarcastic) Oooh, the Germans are mad at me. I'm so scared! Oooh, the Germans! (Hiding behind Smithers) Uh oh, the Germans are going to get me!
Horst: Stop it!

Burns saying to Smithers, "Smithers, come here I want you" is a reference to Alexander's Graham Bell's famous phrase when he invented the telephone: "Watson, come I want you."
