The Simpsons: Marge on the Lam

After Homer gets his arms stuck in vending machines at work, Marge goes to the ballet with Ruth Powers (from season four's "New Kid on the Block"). The two end up spending time together--leading to a Thelma and Louise-style run from the police after Ruth confesses that she stole her ex-husband's car. Meanwhile, Homer hires crooked lawyer Lionel Hutz to babysit Bart, Lisa, and Maggie while Homer tries to have fun without his wife.

Episode Quotes
Fireman with saw: Mr. Simpson there's no easy way to say this, were going to have to saw your arms off.
Homer: Awww, but they'll grow back won't they?
Fireman: Yeah, sure. They'll grow back.
Other Fireman: Are you just holding on to the can.
Homer: Yeah, why?

Homer: Where are you going?
Marge: I don't know.
Homer: When will you be home?
Marge: I'm not sure.
Homer: Where are you going?
Marge: You already asked me that!
Homer: Will you bring me back something?

Marge: We can't trick these guys. They are highly trained professionals!
(Ruth turns off the car lights.)
Chief Wiggum: Oh my god, it just disappeared! (Gasp) It's a ghost car! (Slams on brakes) There are ghost cars all over these highways you know.
Homer: Hold me!
Chief Wiggum: Only if you hold me!

Homer: Look Marge, I'm sorry I haven't been a better husband. I'm sorry about the time I tried to make gravy in the bathtub. I'm sorry I used your wedding dress to wax the car. And I'm sorry--Oh well, let's just say I'm sorry for the whole marriage up to this point.

Episode Goofs
In this episode, Ruth says that the reason why she divorced her husband is because all he ever did was "eat, sleep, and drink beer," and never paid her child support, but on the season four episode "New Kid on the Block," Ruth implied that she divorced her husband because his career got in the way of his family life.
