Episode Quotes
Lisa: And now you can go back to just being you, instead of a one-dimensional character with a silly catch-phrase.
Homer: (Breaking a lamp) D'oh!
Bart: Ay, carumba!
Marge: (Groans)
Maggie: (Sucks her pacifier)
Ned Flanders: Hi-dilly-ho!
Barney: (Belches)
Nelson: Ha, ha!
Mr. Burns: Excellent!
(Long pause, everyone stares at Lisa)
Lisa: If anyone wants me, I'll be in my room.
Homer: What the hell type of catch phrase is that!?

Bart: Have any of the workers had their hands cut off by the machinery?
Factory Worker: No.
Bart: And then the hand started crawling around and tried to strangle everybody?
Factory Worker: No, that has never happened.
Bart: Any popped eyeballs?
Factory Worker: I'm not sure what kind of factory you're thinking of.

Lisa: I've got a weekend job helping the poor and I'm only eight.
Homer: That's not a job, it's a waste of time. What can poor people pay you? Nothing! What satisfaction you get from helping them? None! Who wants to help poor people anyway? Nobody!

Episode Goofs
Lisa's milk glass is momentarily empty, then returns to half full.
Her plate also goes from having scraps of food to clean.

When Bart is looking to escape the box factory he spots a laundry cart, however the laundry cart he jumps into isn't the same one he spots (of course why a box factory needs a laundry cart is another mystery but that's not the point).
The orange laundry is gone and there's a green shirt(?) that's hanging over the side that wasn't there before.
Also, it isn't in the same place as when he sees it. It's halfway across the doorway but when he runs to it, it's a foot and half away.

As Krusty leads Bart to the back door & as he opens it, he is wearing his normal white gloves, however as they stand there with the open door staring at the crowd of kids, his gloved hand is bare.

From Bart's point of view, when the class is waiting in anticipation for him to say his line, Martin is seen in his normal short sleeved white shirt, however in the over head shot, he is suddenly wearing a long sleeve shirt.
Also, Richard is seen in Bart's POV wearing his standard blue shirt but in the wide shot, he is wearing a black shirt.

Cultural References
Coca-Cola

Krusty throwing his towel to Bart, is a direct allusion to the 1979 Coke commercial featuring "Mean" Joe Greene.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993-2009)

Conan O'Brien voices himself in this episode on his talk show debut Late Night which he began in 1993.
Conan of course was a writer on The Simpsons from 1991 to 1993.

MC Hammer

The record producer that is helping to record Bart's 'I Didn't Do It' song bears a striking resemblance to singer MC Hammer (1964-)
