Homie the Clown - Recap

Krusty the Clown finds out that his company is running out of money, and they try to make some money by opening a clown college. Meanwhile, Homer begins to read billboards as he crosses them while driving to work. He is interested by billboards about food, but when he sees the clown college billboard, he is indifferent. While at work, he begins to have dreams about clown college, and while Lenny is trying to tell him that the section he was supposed to be monitoring is on fire, he can only think of clowns. While eating dinner at home, Homer makes a mashed potato sculpture of a carnival tent, and imagines the other Simpsons are clowns, which drives him crazy and enrolling him in clown college. While in clown college, he experiments with baggie pants, which fit him perfectly, dressing up like Krusty, flowers which squirts water, and the most important of all, the loop, something Homer just can't seem to do quite right. After graduating, Homer becomes the Krusty of Springfield, where he goes to Milhouse's birthday party, and entertains at the Krusty Burger. Meanwhile, Krusty lost all the money he made off of the clown college in betting tickets, which gets him into a lot of trouble with Fat Tony and the mafia. He tries to make an escape by fleeing the country with a bathroom ruse. Fat Tony then devises a world search for Krusty, but cancels it when he mistakes Homer for Krusty, and he tries to shoot him from a distance. After missing several times, Fat Tony grabs him and takes him to Don Vittorio, the leader of the mafia. Homer tries to convince them he's not Krusty, but it was of no use, and Don Vittorio decides to shoot him, but it's very hard to shoot a man with such talent. Homer then gets a chance to be let free: He must go through the loop, the only thing he couldn't do at clown college. After failing to do so, the real Krusty shows up, and that makes it harder for the mafia to tell who the real Krusty is. While making a "disrespectful display", the mafia tells them that the only way to be let go is to go through the loop together. While making an attempt, they miss the loop, heading for various objects which make a sudden harmony for them, and by the end of the act, they make it through the loop, and Homer swallows the bike, freeing both him and Krusty. Although the mafia leader is satisfied, Krusty still owes him 48 dollars. Krusty pays him fifty, getting two dollars in change, and everyone is happy.
