After an episode of Eye on Springfield, Marge feels that Springfield is too much of an illiterate, uneducated town, and worries about the tourist economy. She thinks that a film festival would help raise their economy, and she invites Jay Sherman the Critic over to Springfield to host the film festival. Homer starts to feel jealous of Jay's many talents, and he asks Marge to put him on the film festival jury. After watching Moleman's movie, "Man Getting Hit By Football", Homer is ready to make a decision. Barney's movie, "Pukahontas", wins everyone's attention, and Mr. Burns' movie really hit the gutters. Mr. Burns bribes Krusty the Clown and Mayor Quimby, two of the film festival jurors, to vote for him, and Jay Sherman and Marge vote for Barney's movie. Homer votes for Moleman's movie, which results in a deadlock. Marge reconsiders putting him on the jury, but Homer watches Barney's movie, and makes the right decision. Barney wins the film festival, and Marge tells Jay Sherman that people in small towns aren't as dumb as they think they are. In the end, Mr. Burns tries his movie for an Oscar, but instead, the winner was "Man Getting Hit by Football", the remake with George C. Scott.
