Couch: The family runs in to sit on the couch, but it turns into a monster and chases them out of the house. Everyone's couches come to life and start attacking and swallowing the people sitting on them. The purple-haired twins, Sherri and Terri, get swallowed by their beanbag chair; police officers Eddie and Lou are trapped in their squad car as couches rock it back and forth; Professor Frink is attacked by a futuristic flying couch with laser weaponry; Moe fights back against the stools and booths in his bar by blasting them with his shotgun; Homer takes refuge in a store called "Couch World", where he is piled upon by dozens of couches.

This episode shows that Bart has a sensitive side, although usually popularity takes over it.

(Marge and Bart are at the tea house and Marge finds a note on the door)

Moe: Now if we get bored on the bus, I've got a book of brain teasers here. Lets see uhh.. Oh brothers and sisters have I none, but this mans father is my fathers son. Huh… (Throws the book into the garbage) Screw you ya stupid thing. (Walks away and then comes back and gets the book out of the bin and reads the answer) He is my son. That blows!!

Homer: I'm joining a professional arm wrestling circuit.
Marge: Uh huh. And how will this affect your job at the plant?
Homer: Negatively, I assume.
