The Simpsons: The Seemingly Never-Ending Story

While cave exploring with his family, Homer causes the cave to crumble and finds himself stuck upside down in the ceiling. Marge and Bart search for help while Lisa passes the time by telling Homer a story, which turns into a chain of narrated tales that, bit by bit, explain why The Simpsons are spending the day at Carl's Dad Caverns.

Episode Quotes
Bart: Checking out the cave is gonna be awesome! It'll be dark, with rocks, and mineral formations. And plants that have adapted to harsh... Wait a minute! This is a scam. We're on a nature walk!

Homer: (snorts) Silly Indians, our god made their god.

Homer: I'm stuck! And I have to pee. (pause) Now I'm just stuck.

Homer: Don't leave me! I hate to be alone. Except when I'm watching TV then leave me alone. But right now, don't leave.

Homer: Will you tell me a story?
Lisa: Sure, once upon a time in a far off kingdom.
Homer: No unicorns!

Lisa: Mad beast!
Burns: Liberal midget!

Moe: There she was, the gorgeoust new girl in town: Edna Krabappel.

Barney: I'm a drunk. I don't know nothing about how I do anything.

Moe: Uh, these are some of the local alcoholics, I told you about.
Carl: Don't pinch and hold us. We have other vices.
Lenny: I dress up like a baby.

Moe: Eh, you can't donate that gold to the museum today, because ehm.. Ah, it's closed. So they can clean under the wangs of the statues.

Archaeologist Snake: I've been robbed! I'll take my revenge on society. By which I mean convenience stores. And who would suspect me? Professor Jailbird.

Burns: Oh, you poor man. You're about to get a lot poorer.

Homer: Well, I guess I should explain. Not long ago it was my day to take care of the baby. So I was out in the forest hiding.

Moe: But I thought you didn't want to date a tavern owner.
Edna: At this point, all I want is a man with a healthy libido.
Moe: Aha. Well, this is where it gets awkward again.
