| Cavalese Cable-Car Disaster
When Paulie is asked if his is in NATO, he mentions that a plane cut a ski lift cable. This is a reference to the 1998 Cavalese cable-car disaster in which a U.S. military plane cut the cable on a gondola in the Italian town of Cavalese. 20 people will killed in the incident.
