  Episode Notes
This episode aired with "Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood" as a two-hour season premiere.

Deaths: Livia Soprano (stroke)

Due to the death of Nancy Marchand (Livia Soprano), David Chase opted to have her character die on the series as well. Because she passed away prior to the shooting of the episode, CGI and previous sound clips were used to add her into various scenes.

This is the final appearance of Nancy Marchand (Livia Soprano).

Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto), Steve R. Schirripa (Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri), Robert Funaro (Eugene Pontecorvo), John Ventimiglia (Artie Bucco) and Katherine Narducci (Charmaine Bucco) have been added as series regulars.

Vincent Pastore (Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero) makes a cameo appearance in the episode. He can be seen in Tony's mirror.

  Cultural References
Episode Title: Proshai, Livushka

"Proshai, Livushka" is Russian for "Farewell, Little Livia."

Undertaker: I will use all my power, and all my skills on Livia.

The undertaker's line is a reference to The Godfather in which Don Vito Corleone tells the undertaker to "use all your power and all your skills" on Sonny after his body is mutilated.
