The show was originally going to be called The Suite Life and then The Suite Life of Dylan and Cole, but the characters where changed and with that so did the names, and it became The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. One speculation as to why it didn't remain just The Suite Life was because every Disney seres created up to that point featured the main characters names in the titles (ie. PHIL of the Future, Thats So RAVEN, etc.)
