The Tomorrow People are 'homo superiors', the next stage of human evolution. They have special powers including telekinetic abilities and teleportation skills, commonly known as "Jaunting". They are assisted in their adventures by a futuristic talking computer called Tim.

The Tomorrow People ran for nearly six years and over the years we see a number of ' Tomorrow People' depart the show. However one member of the team remained throughout the series and that's John played by actor Nicholas Young, he is in all 68 episodes.

The earth becomes involved with a war started on another planet between the Thargons and the Sorsons. The US President takes the side of the Sorsons and forms an alliance with them and allows the Sorsons to build a base on Earth. The Thargons threaten to attack the earth and even destroy the planet if the Americans continue to be allies with the Sorsons. John is temporarily jailed by the Galactic Trip Council after asking for their help. The rest of The Tomorrow People have lost their powers after being exposed to Barlumin. The Tomorrow People have to find a way out of this predicament and save the earth.
